2022 Ford F-250 SD
The Ford F-250 has just the right amount of power and capability to get big jobs done. Changes to the 2022 model include a newly available 12-inch touch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a new Sport Appearance Package for the Lariat. There are also some new exterior colors for the entire lineup and a Black Appearance Package for the XLT.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level F-250 XL comes with 17-inch steel wheels, black plastic exterior trim elements, black steel bumpers, and manual-folding side mirrors. Step up to the XLT for chrome bumpers and a chrome grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, and heated side mirrors, or to the Lariat for power-folding tow mirrors. Another step up to the King Ranch adds LED lighting in the bed, a remote tailgate release, and keyless entry, and the Platinum adds to this with LED headlights, body-colored bumpers and side mirror caps, and 20-inch wheels. Choosing the Limited gets you all these features along with a twin-panel moonroof.
Engine (Power)
Ford offers the F-250 with three different powertrains. The base is a 6.2-liter gas V-8 with 385 horsepower, but you can also get a 7.3-liter gas V-8 that puts out 430 horsepower. A 6.7-liter turbodiesel is also available and gets you 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Rear-wheel drive comes standard with most F-250s, but you can get four-wheel drive at every trim level. If you need off-road capabilities, the FX4 package adds off-road shocks and skid plates, and the more capable Tremor Off-Road Package comes with a locking rear differential and a front limited-slip differential. It also has an upgraded suspension and extra driving modes.
Interior
Inside, the F-250 can fit up to six people in the larger cabs. The XL has vinyl upholstery and a front bench seat, but just a step up to the XLT gets you cloth upholstery and power windows and doors. Moving up through the lineup adds more cabin upgrades such as leather upholstery in the Lariat and above, massaging heated and ventilated front seats in the Platinum, which also has a heated steering wheel, and the Limited has two-tone leather upholstery and a suede headliner.
The tech features in this pickup include an 8-inch touch screen in the XLT, but you'll get the new, larger 12-inch touch screen starting with the Lariat. It runs the latest SYNC 4 infotainment system and has a wireless smartphone connection. The Platinum's SYNC 4 system enhances the voice recognition system, and the 12-inch touch screen gains navigation and a swipe feature.

Safety Features
Every 2022 F-250 comes with a rearview camera, and starting with the XLT, you also get automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. Lane-departure warning and a reverse sensing system come with the Lariat and above, and the Platinum and Limited adds adaptive cruise control. Automatic high beam headlights are also available, and you can get lane-keeping assist. A trailer backup assist feature is another available safety system, along with a 360-degree surround-view camera.
